Kelsey Miller is a 26 year old originally from Vermont where she graduated from Saint Michael's College with a double major in Elementary Education and Environmental Studies. She taught 4th grade in public schools for two years in the Burlington area and has had a variety of childcare experiences including babysitting, being a Personal Care Assistant for a boy with cerebral palsy, camp counselor at the local animal shelter, horseback riding instructor, and volunteering at ECHO science and nature museum. She moved to Summit County in 2016 and continued working with children at Little Red School House as a lead preschool teacher. Her next education adventure was getting her Lower Elementary Montessori Teaching Certification at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Boulder, CO in 2019. With her new Montessori knowledge, she accepted a job at Bristlecone Montessori School in Alma, CO where she and her pup, Otis, taught her multigrade class of kindergarteners to third graders. Incorporating Otis in her classroom was an amazing opportunity that allowed children to learn respect, care, and compassion for animals and the living world. While in CO Kelsey has continued to create relationships with the environment and people around her.
